When our industry thinks in terms of technician education, much of our efforts revolve around identifying and recruiting students for diesel-equipment programs at technical colleges. All those efforts are fine, but a good question to ask is how they are prepared in the K-12 years to succeed in those programs. College dropouts aren’t of much industry benefit.
