At CONEXPO 2020, the Caterpillar Foundation announced a $300,000 grant to The AED Foundation’s (AEDF) scholarship program for high school graduates transitioning to AED Foundation-accredited trade schools.
The scholarship program will strengthen the pipeline of future diesel technicians to address the heavy construction and agriculture industry’s workforce gap. In partnership with the Caterpillar Foundation, AEDF is inviting high school students who are pursuing a career in heavy diesel technology to apply for a one-time $2,000 scholarship award. The Foundation is working diligently toward expanding outreach to high schools through AED recognition. AEDF will allocate awards to the greatest number of eligible and talented beneficiaries.
Only graduates from an AEDF recognized high school programs entering an AEDF accredited college are eligible to apply. Students must submit a brief letter indicating how they developed industry interest, two written professional recommendations (preferably an instructor and employer), and a scanned copy of the student’s acceptance letter in an AEDF accredited college program.
